Gibertini Giuseppe

Role (in NITROS)
Co-supervisor for the following fellowship:
ESR 4: Robust flight control of rotorcraft manoeuvres immersed in obstacle’s turbulence
Short CV
Giuseppe Gibertini took his Master Degree in Aerospace Engineering at Politecnico di Milano in 1987. In 1988 he obtained the Post-Graduate Diploma in fluid dynamics at Von Karman Institute (Belgium). In 1992 he defended his PhD thesis on turbulent separated flows (degree officially awarded in 1993) and then he won a three year fellowship to continue his research. He was in charge of the aerodynamic optimization of the new large wind tunnel of Politecnico. Since 2001 is assistant professor at Politecnico di Milano where he teached the course on Experimental Fluid Dynamics till 2010. He presently teaches the course on Aerodynamics of Rotorcraft and is deputy director of the board of the large wind tunnel. His main field of research is the unsteady aerodynamics on rotorcrafts and bluff bodies.
Activity
He was a coordinator of a lot of international projects (TETRA (Test of Tilt-Rotor Air intakes), FP7 (CleanSky), ROD (Rotorcraf Drag Reduction), FP7 (CleanSky) and GUM (Active GUrney on Main Rotor blades), FP7 38 mesi coordinatore (CleanSky). He is a member of the Board of PhD in Aerospace Engineering of Politecnico di Milano and Member of the Scientific Committee of the 8th International Colloquium on Bluff Body Aerodynamics & Applications (BBAA 2016).
