Short CV
Marco Lovera received the M.Sc. degree in Electronic Engineering and the Ph.D. degree from the Politecnico di Milano in 1993 and 1998, respectively. He is a Professor of Automatic Control at the Politecnico di Milano. After a one-year period in industry he joined in 1999 the Dipartimento di Elettronica, Informazione e Bioingegneria of the Politecnico di Milano. Presently (since January 2015), he is with the Dipartimento di Scienze e Tecnologie Aerospaziali of the Politecnico di Milano, where he leads the Aerospace Systems and Control Laboratory. Main research interests: model identification and aerospace applications of advanced systems and control concepts, with specific reference to spacecraft attitude determination and control, rotorcraft modelling and control, small scale autonomous vehicles. He is currently Associate editor of Automatica and arXiv moderator for the categories “Control and Optimization” and “Systems and Control.”
Activity
Full professor of automatic control with a large experience in the identification and control design for rotorcraft.
His research work on rotorcraft dynamics and control is aimed at the development of methods and tools for advanced integrated vehicle design, aimed at exploring tradeoffs between performance and environmental impact (e.g., noise, emissions, etc) and improving safety and comfort.
